Holiday Hype Affects Celebrations And Commerce
This year, the number of shoppers planning to celebrate winter holidays is higher than we’ve seen in the past 3 years. As they continue to prioritize social experiences, 97% of U.S. consumers say they will celebrate at least one winter holiday in 2024.
Unsurprisingly, each generation will approach holiday celebrations differently:

Boomer and Gen X shoppers are the most likely groups to celebrate occasions like Christmas and Thanksgiving, indicating a love for tradition.

Gen Z shoppers are the most likely group to celebrate Halloween and the New Year, speaking to an interest in parties and social occasions (and perhaps their interest in participating in non-traditional events).
